Further to the post made a few weeks earlier about ovarian cancer and belly fat; in one of his latest shows, Dr. Oz has added a few more cancers to the list associated with excessive fat around the middle.
First in the line is pancreatic cancer. The pancreas is the organ in your body that produces insulin to regulate blood sugar, and any malfunction in this organ could lead to type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
If you are over weight, you become insulin resistance and that is a precursor to diabetes. Eating lots of leafy green vegetables and eat fruits like oranges to boost your folate intake.
Being overweight could also lead to an increased risk of colon cancer. Excess fat in those vital organs around your lower stomach plus possible constipation could lead to colon problems. Drink plenty of water, increase your fiber intake and Exercise regularly to get everything functioning in a regular manner.
Also, make sure you are getting enough calcium in your diet as only 15% of women do – “Calcium works to stop the growth of cancer cells and detoxifies the system, preventing these outside invaders from wreaking havoc in the colon, where they can promote cancer.”
Kidney cancer was up next as the result of the overproduction of leptin. It is linked closely to high blood pressure and you can counteract that by eating high potassium rich foods such as bananas and broccoli.
Lastly, we have endometrial or uterine cancer on the list. A recent study showed women whose waist measured in excess of 35? had an increased risk of this kind of cancer by 57% and uterine cancer is directly linked to belly fat and estrogen overproduction.

“Women who Exercise most days (30-minute+ walk) gain 80% less weight over 20 years; men 50% less… we need smaller portions; the best smaller portions are of complex carbs and maybe add nuts and legumes in moderation.”
